Pricing varies based on the length of your audio and the complexity of the project. As an example, podcast editing starts at $100 an for a 30-50minute episode--but unlike other podcast editing groups this price includes all the necessary services to make you sound like the professionals, including intro and outro music for your show! Prices increase slightly depending on the clients needs for music, sound fx, hosting, and live recording solutions,
but we'll never price our clients out of having the high quality podcast that they deserve. In order to keep this promise, we offer steep discounts to smaller organizations, indigenous groups, and clients from underrepresented populations on all our services. This way we can work with small non-profits, libraries, religious communities, and minority groups at affordable rates. Most of The Language Lab's clients qualify for reductions of up to 50% on our services. Our goal is to make you heard, whatever it takes! Podcast Editing Services
We offer all the services you need to get your podcast running and give it a polished and professional sound! Podcasts editing starts at $100 for 4 tracks of raw between 30-50 minutes long. This includes cleaning the audio, applying unique EQ settings to tracks to enhance their natural sound, removing unwanted audio (like "umms" and pauses) and tailoring the project to the required LUFs rating for Apple Podcasts and other platforms. This rate also gets your podcast appropriately licensed into and outro music! But that just scratches the surface! We can also provide music and sound effects, as well as hosting solutions--we'll get your content available on every platform so you can just focus on creating. If you need equipment, or help recording your podcast we also offer live and remote recording with the highest quality equipment on the market and offer clients an online portal where they can easily store and share their work prior to editing or release. Studio, Field, and Remote Recording
Our in-house recording studio is located in Salem, Virginia. We have a variety of microphones, instruments, noise makers, and many other kinds of digital and natural noises that can bring your audio project to life! Recording times are available every weekday, and include working with a professional audio engineer. Prices for studio recording start at $45/hour. Call or email today to book a slot! Can't make it to Virginia? No problem! We can also come to you, or record remotely.
Mobile recording starts at $250 for a three-hour recording session and includes all the equipment for your project, such as your audio engineer, microphones and mixers--even professional foam to reduce echo.

Sound Design
Are you looking for unique intro music for your podcast? Do want to create a soundscape to accompany an audio drama? Or maybe you need a cinematic score for your YouTube video? Perhaps you're like us and are just on the hunt for an elusive or hard to manage sound. The Language Lab can do it all! We also maintain a library of sounds and instruments from the ancient world, as well as boasting a wide range sounds from across the world--all so it can be heard and reinterpreted by you! Looking to mix and master your own music? We can help with some of the best rates and sound quality around. We often work with artists that focus on rap and have specialized equipment for beatboxing and other vocal sounds that are often unfairly marginalized at other sound studios. Mastering tracks of songs start $100 for a 3-minute multi-track recording. This price includes expertly prepared metadata for your track and we use the highest quality software available today to give your work professional sound quality! And artists own all their own work! Your art belongs to you--we just want to help achieve the best sound for your project.
The Pramāṇa Language Lab specializes in producing live field recordings of human subjects and natural environments. We are able to pack out our gear and travel to hard to reach places, both natural and human-made. We also capture and create foley sounds for sound effects and study.
